How Hard Can It Be?

The question that is always asked.  How hard can something really be.  One won't know until on tries.  Right?  Tired of being chastised by my doctor for my weight and for my general health I have set a goal for myself to become healthier and the lose a pound or two.  I have decided not to set resolutions for the new year because, lets face it, they usually get broken by Jan 3 anyways.  Instead, I have decided to set a goal and that goal is to become healthier and lighter throughout the year.

My momma is my role model.  If she can put her mind to it then surely I can too.  I know that I will face temptations and that people will try to derail me (hell I may try to derail myself) even if they don't mean to.

For those of you who don't know, the South Beach Diet is a way of eating so that you combine the right foods so that you feel full and are satisfied throughout the day.  The hardest and most strictest part of this is are the first two weeks.  This is the 'detox' period in which you are ridding your body of the cravings it has for sugar and carbs.  Hmmmm no sugar or bread for the next two weeks.  YIKES!  I have determined that I can live on bread alone.  MMMMMMMMM bread...

I've created this blog to give me an outlet while on this adventurous journey.  I hope that it brings more successes than setbacks.  With that said...Let the journey begin!
